North Downs Way

The North Downs Way is a National Trail running from Farnham in Surrey to Dover in Kent. This comprises a trail from Farnham to Dover of about 123 miles, and the Canterbury Loop of about 34 miles.

So far, I have only completed the Farnham-Dover trail. The map shows this Trail, and my individual walks, followed by a list of links to the blog posts for each walk.

Here is a summary of walk blogs for the complete walk from Farnham to Dover (I have not yet done the Canterbury loop - watch this space.). The distances are computed from my own GPS measurements, and include the mileages from and to the specified start and finish points.

Farnham to Guildford: start, Farnham Station; finish Guildford Station; 15 miles

Guildford to Dorking: (Wey to Mole); start, Guildford Station; finish Dorking Station (or others); 14 miles

Mole to Betchworth Station: start, Stepping Stones; finish, Betchworth Station; 4 miles

NB The previous and next walks could easily be combined into a single walk, Mole to Merstham; 12 miles

Betchworth Station to Merstham: start, Betchworth Station; finish Merstham Station, 8 miles

Merstham to Oxted: start, Merstham Station, NDW to Oxted Downs, finish, Oxted Station, 11 miles

Oxted to Dunton Green: start, Oxted Station, finish, Dunton Green Station, 13 miles

Dunton Green to Wrotham: start, Dunton Green Station, finish, Borough Green and Wrotham Station, 13 miles

Wrotham to Cuxton: start, Borough Green and Wrotham Station, finish Cuxton Station, 14 miles

Cuxton to Detling: start, Cuxton Station, finish Bearsden Station, 15 miles

Detling to Lenham, start, Bearsden Station; finish Lenham Station; 13.5 miles

Lenham to Wye: start Lenham Station; finish Wye Station; 13 miles

Wye to Tolsford Hill: start, Wye free car park; finish, Sandling Station; 14 miles

Tolsford Hill to Capel-le-Ferne: start, Tolsford Hill car park, finish Battle of Britain Memorial (return to start by bus); 8 miles walking

Capel-le-Ferne to Dover: Start, Folkestone Station, bus to Capel, finish Dover Priory Station; 8 miles walking
