Walk Geography

This quirky walk follows the Northern shore of the Thames passing under the Queen Elizabeth II 'M25' Bridge. The journey is full of interest, with industrial sites, oil depots, and jetties on one side, and views across and along the river on the other.

Purbeck Ridge Part 1: Lulworth Cove to Corfe Castle (12 miles)

The Walk : From Lulworth Cove, this walk is a blend of Range Walks, coastal path and finally the airy Purbeck Ridge to Corfe Castle. The walk is only possible when the MOD Lulworth Ranges are open to the public. There is an optional excursion down to the abandoned village of Tyneham. Chichester Harbour: Bosham to Dell Quay via Itchenor Ferry (10 miles)

The Walk: Starting from the A259 at Cutmill Creek, the walk goes along the shore of Chichester Harbour to Bosham, across Bosham Harbour on the causeway exposed at low tide, and on around the shore to take the ferry across to Itchenor. The North East arm of the Harbour is then followed through Chichester Marina and along the permissive shore path through Apuldram Farm to the waterside hamlet of Dell Quay. The walk passes through the Fishbourne Meadows Nature Reserve to end back on the A259 near Fishbourne. There is an optional extension to the Fishbourne Roman Palace museum.
